How to spot a scam
The red flags of a fraudulent investment, and how to verify every claim, including ours.
Why we tell you this
Argentina has seen platforms that promised a lot and ended badly. The CNV published a warning on 9 December 2025 listing the typical signs of an investment fraud. We list them here, including the ones that could apply to us: the point is not for you to trust us, it is for you to be able to verify.
Red flags
- Promises of a fixed return that cannot fail. No serious investment promises you will not lose. A development carries risk: capital can be lost.
- Returns far above the market, with no explanation of where they come from. If the number sounds too good, ask for the math.
- Pressure to decide now. Quotas that "run out", offers that "expire today". Urgency is a sales technique, not a fact.
- Mass promotion or influencers for a private placement. The rules forbid it: a private offering is invited one person at a time, not advertised.
- You cannot verify the issuer or the trustee in the public registries. If they do not appear, or you are not allowed to check, that is a sign.
- The account is not in the trust's name. Your money must go to an account of the vehicle, not to a person's or some random company's.
- Support vanishes or turns into a bot when you ask to withdraw or raise an uncomfortable question.
How to verify (applied to us)
- Look up the issuer and the trustee in the CNV registries. Next to each claim we give you the direct link with the "verify us yourself" button.
- Confirm whose name the account is in. The "where is your money" panel shows the path of the contribution to the trust's account.
- Check the use of funds. We publish every work certificate with the hash of its document.
- Recompute the numbers yourself. The "verify this number yourself" button recomputes each figure's hash in your browser, without going through our servers.
Authority through self-criticism
Several of these signs could be used to distrust us, and that is fine: that is why we publish the asset status, the use of funds and the proofs, so you can check them instead of believing us. A platform that asks for faith, not verification, is the one to look at most carefully.
A simple rule
If something promises you cannot lose, be suspicious. Every real investment carries risk, ours included. Seek independent professional advice before deciding.
